A nudge feature is a classic slot mechanic where the reels shift up or down by one position after a spin. It can turn a near miss into a winning combination by aligning symbols across a payline that were just out of reach.

Nudges can work in a few different ways:

  • Random activation: After a spin ends, the game may randomly nudge one or more positions on the reels to create a win. For example, if one matching symbol is required to complete a winning combination or trigger a bonus, it may nudge into position.
  • Bonus-triggered: Some slots tie nudges to specific features like free spins bonus rounds. They only activate during the course of the bonus feature.
  • Classic style: Fruit machines and retro-inspired slots often use the old style of nudges. You can select specific reels to nudge down or up one position.

Nudges are one of the oldest slot features that date back to the earliest physical fruit machines in casinos and clubs. They have evolved, but essentially do the same thing. They step up to complete winning combinations just when you missed out by one position. They’re like that second chance of winning that you hoped would happen.

You will find nudge features on classic slots in the mBitcasino lobby. Check them out, as just one nudge could change everything.
